In the Savoie last week, our friends told us to go to Arpin 1817. The factory has been classified as a living heritage company. 14 machines are listed on the National heritage register and in active service....
'It is these machines, and the hands that operate them, generation after generation, which give Arpin fabrics all their individuality and their unique qualities, as striking to see as to touch. Master wool worker, Master weaver, overseer, upholsterer, quilter…. these noble, ancestral trades continue to live on within the Factory. '
